First Day of Spring

[Malisa Malfoy]

As it was the first day of spring, it was very plesant outside. The sun was shinning and the birds were singing - even the giant squid was out on the surface of the lake. Malisa walked down to the edge of the lake and found a clean patch of grass that was dry. She sat underneath the tree and started to read.

Evelyn walked over unsurely towards her sister. Malisa, since being sorted into Ravenclaw, seemed to be getting increasingly distant from the family, her views sometimes conflicting with that of her parents, and this was worrying Evelyn. "We need to talk," she said bluntly as she sat down beside Malisa.

"About what?" said Malisa snapping her book shut. Since she'd come to Hogwarts the two sisters - who'd been so close - had started to make their own ways. They had each found a new path in which to sride upon.

[Evelyn Malfoy]

Evelyn looked at her, observing her expression thoughtfully. "We're worried about you," she said after a few moments of contemplation, "Your changing, your siding with the enemy."

[Malisa Malfoy]

"Enemy?" asked Malisa exasperated. "The only enimy here is you-know-who."

[Evelyn Malfoy]

"You know what I mean," she said, a flicker of annoyance in her eye which was quickly replaced with her look of indifference, "Mudbloods, blood traitors, etcetera, your disgracing the family name."

[Malisa Malfoy]

Malisa snorted. "I don't care about the stupid family name." she said as if it were obvious. "It's already given me enough nightmares." she put the book back in her bag and stood up. She glance at the horison for a seccond.

[Evelyn Malfoy]

Evelyn rolled her eyes in mild irritation, "We all know that you don't care about the family name, but we do. Do you realize what could happen to us if we fall out of the Dark Lords favour?" She stood up looking at Malisa with a defiant glare, "Its getting increasingly difficult for Father to hide your eccentric views from You-Know-Who. He's going to find out sooner or later if you keep letting your thoughts become so... so public."

Malisa turned her look back to Evelyn. "The ones who know that our family is wrong will come to the lighter side - where it's safe." she tured round and started to walk back towards the castle. She didn't fany spending the afternoon outside anymore.

Malisa walked after her, speaking in a heated tone, "The lighter side? Are you trying to say that our views are evil?! Its too late to change sides now anyway, your a Malfoy, act like one. You can't keep hiding from it, your one of us."

[Malisa Malfoy]

Malisa kept on walking. "I don't care if I'm a malfoy anymore." She stopped and turned around. "Don't you understand? It doesn't matter what family you're from, it's the side. And I'm not going to be the one kissing you-know-who's shoes."

[Evelyn Malfoy]

"So accosiating with that wretched Potter half-blood and his mudblood and bloodtraitor friends is so much better now? Have you really sunk that low?" She pointed an accusing finger at Malisa, a resentful look on her face, "Well then, I can assure you that I will be reporting this is Father. He certainly won't be happy to hear this."

[Malisa Malfoy]

"Don't call her that." said Malisa crossly and then she smirked. "You think he doesn't know." she held up her wrist. It was cut deeply in several places.

[Evelyn Malfoy]

Now it was Evlelyn's turn to smirk, "Of course I know he knows, I heard the screams. No, he told me to have a word with you about the matter, to try to make you see sense. I'll have to tell him that you still uphold your eccentric views, and have resisted my attempts to persuade you otherwise. He'll punish you again, and I look forward to it, you'll certainly deserve it."

"No doubt you'll get front row seats." said Malisa turning round again. Only then did she feel a sinking feeling in her stomach. It was the Easter Holidays soon and she was always forced to come home then.

"Also, I do believe that the Dark Lord will be using the manor as his base, so you'll do well not to embarrass the family in front of him," she added, slightly worried at the prospect, hoping with all her heart that Malisa did not do anything stupid, which undoubtedly she probably would, "If you do then I shudder to think what they might do to you."

Malisa stopped walking for a moment. Her back was turned so her sister could not see the worried look on her face. She bit her lip and then carried on walking, a dark shadow from the castle now upon her.

Evelyn increased her pace slightly, so you was now standing next to her older sister. "Can't you just try to pretend that you share our views? Please?" the last word was said a little quieter, in an almost pleading voice, "You don't know what they're capable of, they'll kill you if given reason to."

[Malisa Malfoy]

Malisa laughted. "I'm not gunna die." she said. "And neither are you." she stopped smiling. "Mum and dad might though. But it would be dad's fault. He knew. He knew that he was killing the whole family as soon as he took the mark."

[Evelyn Malfoy]

Evelyn's eyes flickered with worry, "That can't be true. Mother and Father can't die. You-Know-Who wouldn't let that happen. Father's one of his most respected followers." She paused for a second, recomposing herself, "Either way, what if they hurt you? Worse then Father has. You know what Auntie Bella's like, she wouldn't hesitate on using the Cruciatus curse on you if she knew about you."

[Malisa Malfoy]

"I won't let them hurt me." said Malisa. She suddenly stopped walking. "But I did have... I need to tell you something."

[Evelyn Malfoy]

"What is it?" Evelyn asked, not allowing the worry she was feeling to seep into her voice. She hoped that it was nothing bad, seeing as if Malisa predicted something bad, then it usually happened.

[Luna Lovegood]

Luna walked towards Malisa, she had always been nice to Luna and she was always nice back. "Hey Mal" she said stopping at Malisa's side.

Malisa game her sister a look as if to say 'I'll tell you later' and smiled at Luna. "Hey."

Evelyn nodded, and started to walk towards the castle, glowering at Luna as she passed her.
